Step Into Your Calling

Sarah Cooke, Amanda Smith, Elizabeth Fry, Jessie Penn Lewis, Amy Carmichael, Bertha Smith, Marie Monson, Catherine Booth... just a few of the women used mightily of God to change their generations. How? By walking so closely with Jesus that they knew His POWER! They knew what it was to be not simply 'indwelt', but FILLED with the Holy Spirit. 

As I've read through decades of journals and reflections written by these women, I was struck by their simplicity of life and humility. They were never self-promoting. They were never loud or abrasive, but they were strong! Man, were they strong! When they spoke, whether in conversation, in a class, to a gathering of believers, or from a church pulpit- heaven came down! 

Friends, the annointing to preach and proclaim God's truth is not simply given to men. God said that in the last days (our days) He would pour out his Spirit on both men AND women. While it's true that God (for his own reasons) chooses only men to pastor/shepherd a local church, it is equally true that he has gifted women with the POWER to PROCLAIM His truth. 

All of the greatest spiritual gifts have to do with proclaiming God's truth. Both men and women are told to "eagerly desire the greater gifts." So men and women, if you walk closely with Jesus, you will feel his power flowing through you to be a witness for Him. Step into your calling, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
