What You Should Do
There is no end to the needs that surround us. How do you decide where to help? After all, you can't do two things at once and you only have so much money to give. To begin with, I would tell you to be very careful before giving money or time to organizations that do not proclaim the gospel. I'm not saying don't do it. You might have a chance to witness when you volunteer. I'm simply saying that you need to prayerfully consider where you will spend your time and resources.
By the way, just because of place is a 'church' doesn't mean you should go there or give money there, either. Support churches and missionaries who are 'on fire' for the Lord- those who are actively leading people to salvation in Christ. Your volunteer service should always begin at your local church. Beyond there, consider volunteering at a Christian shelter or food bank. If you have a heart for children, volunteer in an after school program with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF).
Again, there is no end to what you COULD do. The important thing is to make certain that you are doing what you SHOULD do. Give generously, serve wholeheartedly, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
