Come To Him By Faith

I pulled to a stop and began pulling out my driver's license as the police officer parked behind me. Adding to the humiliation of the flashing lights was the fact that in a small town virtually every car that went by knew me. Suddenly- just like that- my circumstances changed.

The policeman stepped on the gas and went roaring past me, shaking his finger at me as he went by. He'd gotten called to some emergency or another, and I was off the hook. I had intentionally broken the law and laughed about it. Now, instead of judgment, I got mercy.

What a picture of the Christian life. I have intentionally broken God's laws many times, and to my shame many times I laughed about it. Guilty, guilty, guilty. But when- BY FAITH- I received Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, he forgave my sins and declared me RIGHTEOUS before God. Forgiven, forgiven, forgiven. The fact that Jesus is God in a 'general' sense does not help you. You must come to him personally- individually- REPENTING of your sins and RECEIVING him by faith. It's that SIMPLE. He's that LOVING and MERCIFUL and POWERFUL. Come to him by faith, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
