Be Intentional

I've been waking up sleeping muscles- hibernating might be more accurate. Actually, I should say that many of my muscles have been in a 'self-induced coma.' I've spent a few days doing hard physical labor. Now I hurt almost everywhere. It's not the "I'm injured" kind of hurt. It's the "you better start working out" kind of hurt.

I think I learned in science that 'an object at rest tends to stay at rest.' Don't get me wrong. I've been doing a lot of mountain climbing, but that hasn't done anything for my ability to lift and move heavy objects... continuously... for hours... To focus all of our energy on one part and yet neglect the rest is unwise. It would be like the person who spends a good deal of time reading God's word or praying, but then doesn't DO what God says.

Jesus quoted scripture dozens of times and spent entire nights praying, but his days were filled with serving others. In fact, he said, "I have done everything the Father has given me to do." Let's embrace that goal, shall we? Let's set as our daily goal to do EVERYTHING that God has given us to do- and to do it JOYFULLY- with ENTHUSIASM- with THANKFULNESS. Be intentional! Take care of your physical health, yes, but LOVE and SERVE God and others, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
