Live This Way
I've always taken my weather cues from Tigger, who said, "Rain, rain, go away. Come again on some other guy!" I prefer a world where the sun always shines and plants are watered from dew and beautiful springs coming up from the ground. But then, we don't always get what we want, do we? The beautiful thing about growing closer to Christ is that he changes what we want.
When we CHOOSE to make life about God and others, we miraculously become more content- more at peace- more fulfilled- less anxious and worried and stressed and lonely. You and I were not created to be SELF-absorbed. It's in our sin nature, but it's most certainly not in our DNA.
The idea that 'life revolves around me'- that we should focus our attention and energy on self- comes from the devil himself- the destroyer- the enemy of our souls. When I genuinely WANT to love and serve the people around me, when I genuinely WANT to love and serve God, I suddenly realize that I get to live life exactly the way that I want! So?
