Never Forgets It's Source

Physical strength has SOME value. Every boy and man daydreams about being stronger. But if we were able to listen in on funeral conversations, isn't it true that the vast majority of those considered to be a STRONG man or woman would never have won physical strength contests? Why, then, when their lives on earth are over, do people say they were so strong?

For some, it was strength to endure- to carry on in spite of difficulty. But for the overwhelming majority, strength was a defining mark of their CHARACTER. True strength never focuses on self, never loses hope, always thinks of others first, and never loses an eternal perspective. And what is the defining mark of that strength? HUMILITY.

Be assured that humility does not simply reveal itself in our response to difficult circumstances. When a person is at the pinnacle of success- when life is going extremely well- when a person has all that he or she wants- THAT'S when true humility is revealed. Abraham Lincoln once said, "Any man can handle adversity. If you want to test a man's character, give him power." Being in very nature God, Jesus took on our humanity, HUMBLED HIMSELF, and became obedient to death- even death on a cross! True strength never forgets its source- CHRIST IN ME, the hope of glory! Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
