Moving

"They moved." In Alaska this is a very common phrase when speaking of friends. Our state is highly transient. As a pastor, a little piece of my heart goes along every time someone moves. As a Christian, wouldn't it be much more accurate for us to say of those who have died, "They moved"?

After all, in the same way, that Anchorage is a place and Fairbanks is a place and New York is a place and Tokyo is a place- HEAVEN is a PLACE. Not a gray, fuzzy, mystical place, but a real place where you will be standing on the ground and sitting on a chair. A place where you will be shaking hands and hugging others. A place filled with meaningful conversation, work and worship.

Yes, from a physical standpoint, a true Christian's body died, but he or she simply moved. It would be like having all of your friends and family move to Hawaii and you saying with full confidence, "I'm moving there too, as soon as my work is done." Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many rooms. I go there to prepare a place for you, and if I go I will come back to take you to be with me where I am." Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
