To Lonely Places
"Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray." -Luke 5:16
One of the things that we often hear from men is that they feel closer to God when they are 'out in the woods' or 'out on the water.' In general terms, boys are more easily distracted than girls and have a harder time focusing for extended periods of time. But when we are out in creation, even as our eyes and ears and minds are engaging with everything around us, our hearts are overwhelmed with the presence of God.
In the wilderness I pray. I rejoice. I give thanks. But for many others, that 'lonely place' where they withdraw to pray is simply a quiet corner, a coffee shop, a park bench, or an early morning kitchen table. Find your place and go there often! Jesus OFTEN withdrew, and so should we. Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
