Two Are Better Than One

I hauled a large extension ladder deep into the woods. Don't ask me how- that's a story in and of itself. I also carried in a large 2-seater ladder stand piece by piece. I climbed about 20 feet up the ladder with a drill and 2 eye-bolts. It was a little precarious, but I drilled a hole in each side of the tree and screwed in the eye-bolts.

Then I threaded a rope through each 'eye' and pulled it down to the ground with me as I descended the ladder. I then tied the end of each rope to my ladder stand and grabbed the other end of the ropes intending to pull my 22 foot tall stand upright against the tree. That was my plan. I thought it was very 'McGyver-ish.' I was doing a 3 man job by myself. I pulled hard enough on the ropes to do a chin-up, but the stand didn't budge off the ground.

A month later it's still laying out there. In fact, the ladder is still against the tree. Sometimes we need to ask for help, don't we? There are some times in life that we simply need others to walk beside us- to share a our work, our sorrow, or our joy and good news. God couldn't be more clear- "TWO are BETTER than one, for they have a good return for their work." Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
