Live For Christ

And so it begins. Our longest day of the year was gloriously sunny, but now we start marching the other way. For the next six months each day will be shorter than the one before it. We have four months- maybe a few weeks more- before the snow comes to stay. Between now and then, life for 'outdoorsy' Alaskans becomes almost a little frantic. Hiking, climbing, camping, fishing, dipnetting, berry picking, hunting (not to mention kids' sports and school starting), and then it's winter again. If we don't take advantage of this season, it will quickly be gone.

From a spiritual standpoint, this is also true. I have been praying for many people I whom I love to be saved. I've prayed for some of them for over 30 years. I know that many of you pray this way as well, but praying isn't enough, is it?
After all, a farmer can't simply sit in his house and pray for a good harvest He has to WORK his fields and GATHER it in. Jesus said, "Look! The fields are ready for the harvest! Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Friends, this is the season for work.

No no matter what you are doing, whether dipnetting, climbing a mountain or shopping for groceries, invite others to church, pray for others, and tell them about Jesus! Not only are the days getting shorter, but your NUMBER of days is getting shorter. Live for Christ and you WILL make a difference in the world! Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
