Prove To Be Trustworthy
I rented a basement apartment in Lewistown, Montana, and headed out to set up my classroom 17 miles west in Moore. I would be teaching the largest class in the school- a combination class of grades 5 and 6 with 22 students. The start of school was several weeks away, but when I arrived I found half a dozen high school boys playing basketball in the gym. I wandered all over the school and couldn't find a single teacher or adult, so I went back to the gym and asked the boys if they had permission to be in the school. One of them replied, "Yeah, in the summer Rich (the superintendent) gives us the keys." Let's talk for a moment about the trust involved.
First, the superintendent trusted that these high school boys wouldnt go anywhere in the school that they shouldn't go or do anything that they shouldn't do. Second, he trusted that the parents of these boys, if someone got hurt or something unforseeable happened, wouldnt sue the school or come after his job. The TRUST that the superintendent placed in his students and their families LED TO greater FREEDOM.
If we want others to put their trust in us, we must prove to be TRUSTWORTHY. Jesus has put his TRUST in you and me. It is a SACRED trust. He is trusting that we will love God and love others ENOUGH that we will share the gospel with the world.
Now the only question each of us must ask ourselves is, "Am I trust WORTHY?" LOVE compels us to share Christ in our homes and communities. LOVE inspires and guides our MISSION. You have been given a TRUST. Be trustworthy, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
