Send More Workers

Whitetail deer, mule deer, antelope, sharptail grouse, Hungarian partridge, pheasant- as I drove a few miles from the town of Moore, Montana into the foothills of the Little Snowy Mountains, I had never seen such game-rich country. The wheat harvest was in full swing, and this new place seemed to overflow with abundance. I had come from a place where the average farm was 160 acres, but here the average was far over 1,000 acres- perhaps double that or more.

The only tall man-made structures that dotted the landscape were for storing grain. Golden wheat fields stretched to the horizon, and on this sunny day the ripe heads of grain gave off a shimmering white glaze. This explains the words of Jesus when he said, "The fields are white for the harvest." He continued, "The harvest is plantiful, the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

This is one of the primary responsibilities of every Christian. We are most certainly to WORK in the harvest field, but we are also most certainly to PRAY- asking God to SEND MORE WORKERS into his harvest field! "Lord Jesus, you have placed us in a rich harvest field right here where we live. Help me to share my faith today, and please send more workers! Amen." Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
