Come To Jesus
The first seven times that I ever flew on a large airplane I only landed twice. The other five times I jumped out of the open door of the plane. Airborne School was three weeks of highly intensive, highly professional training. Nearly 2 weeks was spent perfecting our 'PLF' (parachute landing fall). The objective was to get out of the plane quickly and to land safely.
The infantry's small, round parachutes are nothing like what you see on TV. We came down fast and hard. In a class of several hundred we actually medi-vac'd thirteen guys to the hospital after our first jump. Stepping out of the airplane was easy. Floating through the air with a parachute was exciting. It was the landing that was difficult.
This is the way it is when we step outside of God's commands. Whether we're talking about sexual sin, lying and cheating to get ahead, or taking something that doesn't belong to us- stepping through those doors is always easy. The 'upside' of sin is often exciting. But someday every person WILL land, and the landing is hard.
This is why Jesus began his ministry by saying, "REPENT, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." There is ONE WAY to land safely at the end of life's journey- REPENT, come to Jesus- and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
