What Is Your Mountain

It may not be true for you, but for me the hardest part about climbing a mountain is getting started. Just getting up early and putting on my climbing clothes is a victory, but it isn't a total victory. Many times I've dressed to climb and then not climbed. My second victory is simply getting TO the mountain. I must force my 'will' even when I don't feel like it. And then I have to start.

Every single morning as I begin my climb I feel a little sick to my stomach. Not "I'm going to throw up" sick, but a feeling that borders on nausea. This takes 5 or 10 minutes to press through, and then my body starts getting into the rhythm of the climb. There are many challenges in life, both natural and spiritual, that bring similar feelings.

Perhaps you want to lose weight. Maybe you want to establish a habit of exercise. Maybe you daydream about a different career. Friend, you'll never climb that mountain unless you get started. These small victories must be won every single day. Position yourself for victory. Share your plan with a friend to keep you accountable. Believe me, you have TIME to make changes, but are you WILLING? What is YOUR mountain?
Write it down, make a plan, get started, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
