Life Is Better Together

During the summer a truck could drive on this trail, so I was leading the  heavy equipment in. We had to 'walk it in' (drive it) about 6 miles. Our piece of equipment was half off the trail with the right two wheels in a muckhole and perhaps 4 feet lower than the left two wheels (which were still on the trail). We brought along two heavy chains, but I did not believe that my truck could pull it out. I was right, not even close.

We drove out to the parking area, unhooked the heavy equipment trailer from the other truck, and drove both trucks back in. We chained the two trucks together and with another chain- In low 4 wheel drive 1st gear- were just barely able to pull the equipment back onto the trail. But then, to 'just barely' succeed is success. To 'just barely' win is victory. To 'just barely' get by is to live to see a brighter day.

Sometimes to get unstuck, to begin to move forward, you need more help. This is one of the roles of your brothers and sisters in Christ. Hebrews 10:24 says, "And let us consider how we may SPUR ONE ANOTHER ON toward love and good works." We help, we motivate, we encourage, and we come alongside each other and share in the work. Remember two great rules for living: 1) Don't be too PROUD to ASK for help. 2) Don't be too SELFISH to OFFER help.
