Thank Him
Yesterday was a very typical from the standpoint of provision. I had salmon for lunch, moose for dinner and wild blueberries for dessert. Salmon and wild game has been my diet for decades. In fact, Laura and I never bought any kind of meat our first 11 years of marriage. We've been blessed to live on dall sheep, black bear, caribou, moose and salmon. For me, there is something intensely gratifying about 'living off the land.'
It is a reminder that there is more to life than the urban world we have created. It is a reminder that there are still places so wild that you could walk for days without encountering another person. But living off the land is not easy. On the contrary, it is often extremely difficult. Many times I've had to cut up and pack out a moose or a caribou by myself.
The satisfaction of a full freezer- the ability to feed the dozens of children who've lived in our home and to host many guests all year long (and feed them well) makes it all worth it. Thank God for his provision today. Thank Him for the little things that are so easy to take for granted, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
