Spend Time With The Lord
Up at 4 AM and I feel a little bit like someone poured sand in my eyes. It's not unusual for me to be up this early, but last night I was up till after 1 AM doing things that needed to get done. Why? Because today we'll be driving about 500 miles round trip to check out a river. It might be a total bust, but then again, we might find a new place to hunt. We only have today. My friend flies out tomorrow. Even though it's a day trip, prepping for Alaska takes time. We need rain gear, warm gear, survival gear, hunting gear...
My goal is to prepare with this same diligence EVERY morning before I step out my door. I want to get my head and my heart right. I want to ask God for a greater love- a greater burden- for lost people, and then for the opportunity to be a witness. God speaks to me through his Word, and I want to spend time listening BEFORE I start my day. I want to pray for my wife and children and extended family and church family.
All of this is 'prepping' for my day. Try this- for just one morning get up one hour earlier than usual and spend time with the Lord. Then get ready! God will bring opportunities for you to be used by Him- to serve and encourage and witness- BECAUSE you are prepared! Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
