Be Wise
Proverbs 9:10- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Proverbs 1:7- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.Knowledge requires understanding.
To 'know what to do with what you know' requires wisdom. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of both. What is the root problem of the criminally corrupt leadership of one political party and the criminally corrupt judges who make their crimes permissible? Because they don't fear the Lord they truly don't understand what's going on in the world and they have no wisdom- none.The gift of wisdom allows us to see the world through God's eyes. Because we know and understand, we are able to make wise decisions moving forward. But let's be honest. We don't always make wise decisions, do we? Sometimes we act without thinking. Sometimes we make big decisions without praying.
Sometimes we let our emotions get the best of us.As we grow in Christ- as we learn to stay connected to him throughout each day- we find that his wisdom flows through our minds, our speech and our actions. Then we are able to say with the Apostle Paul, "I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." Friends, YOU are in control of your emotions, your speech, and your actions.
