Abide In Him
A lot of people 'wish' they were more patient. If we translated their thinking into a prayer, it might look like- "Lord, give me patience, and I want it RIGHT NOW!" When you pray for patience, God does not miraculously bestow it upon you. No, he gives you opportunities to BE patient. While taking a deep breath or counting to 10 may allow you to better control your impatience, it does nothing to change the root problem. The problem is SELF. YOU (not your circumstances) are the reason that you are not patient.
This is a spiritual problem. Impatience tells you that you are not walking in the Spirit. You don't need self-help books to overcome this, you simply need to abide- to live- to stay anchored- in Christ. As you abide, patience grows on you like fruit on a tree. And not just patience.
Galatians 5:22-23, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." The solution to your quick temper is not less stress, it's more Jesus. Abide in HIM, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
