Allow God To Fill You

I had one of those rare moments last week. We were in between rain storms so I went Into the woods behind my house and sat down on a little knoll for more than an hour. What was rare? You have to live in Alaska to understand this, but it was PEACEFUL because I wasn't swarmed by mosquitoes or no-see-ums (biting gnats).

Don't get me wrong. I have enjoyed the wilderness thousands of times when they were bugging me, but there is an extra layer of peace and contentment and pleasure when you can just bask in the sun on a crisp fall day. In the same way as those bugs, a thousand distractions continuously interrupt our peace. Cell phones, social media, and an almost endless array of activities on our schedules keep us moving at a near frantic pace.

Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God." Find a quiet moment outdoors today- even If it's just a chair on your deck and a warm cup of coffee. Allow God to FILL you- to OVERWHELM you- to SPEAK into that quiet moment- and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
