Make Life Better
There were two big rams. We took careful aim, quietly counted to three and fired. We cringed as we watched the rams fall through the air for perhaps a 100 feet, land, tumble and freefall again. Everything happened so quickly that we didn't even consider the cliffs beneath us. Believe me, we considered them now. We had no way to drop off this ridgeline to our sheep at any point. We would have to follow this ridge to its end, walk around it on the valley floor, walk up the valley on the other side, spot our sheep and then climb up to them.
Sometimes in life when we get what we want we discover we've simply added an unexpected amount of work. A boat, a cabin, a piece of heavy equipment, and you find that you just added three more jobs to your already busy life. (I speak from experience.) God talks about the importance of 'counting the cost' before we take on a project.
Some of those things are worth it- they add richness to our lives. Others are better to simply let go. Jesus said that following him costs everything, and yet every single thing done for the love of Christ is SO worth it. Consider your life. Count the cost. Release those things that take away and add those things that make life better. Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
