Be A Light

By the time we spotted our rams, climbed up to them, and finally had all the meat and horns and capes packed, it was somewhere between 10 and 11 PM. By the time we got off the mountain and then down the valley to the end of the ridge, it was after midnight. It was dark, we had no flashlight or headlamps, and we knew that we might have problems finding our tent in the next valley. We dropped our packs next to a stream where we knew we could find them the next day, and, grabbing our rifles, headed back to camp.

Because of the cloud cover, the darkness was so thick that you could almost feel it. We knew where we wanted to go, we just couldn't see the way to get there. This is the story of lost humanity. What the world around us wants is acceptance, fulfillment, love and peace. Because they can't see the way to get there, they veer off on all kinds of destructive paths. Some seek it in political power, others in the accumulation of wealth. Some want the adulation of the crowd, and some give themselves away to partner after partner hoping to be loved.

Only one thing is able to pierce that darkness- the LOVE of JESUS CHRIST. True, they are lost and stumbling in the dark, but you and I can BE A LIGHT for them. Make this the central mission of your life, and you will one day hear the words,  "Well done, good and faithful servant! Enter into your Father's rest." Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
