Honor God
I once read that Mark Twain said, "The boy who picks up a cat by the tail learns a lesson he can learn in no other way." As funny as the thought is, it would actually benefit us if all of life's lessons could be learned that quickly. That boy would go from mischief to an immediate and overwhelming FEAR along with PAIN and perhaps a few SCARS. From this moment forward, that boy will have a reverential fear and respect for cats. He will treat them gently and be on his best behavior when dealing with them.
Though it may be a new thought for you, this is the kind of referential fear and respect we should have for the Lord. Jesus said, "Don't fear the one who can kill the body and after that can do no more. Fear the one who can destroy both body and soul in hell." While God loves us utterly and completely, He is not to be trifled with. All of this is wrapped up in the word HONOR. Honor God in your speech, in your actions, in your LIFE, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
