Loving God And Others
As a young man I was utterly directionless. I lived as though the world revolved around me. I was concerned with my immediate pleasure and honestly never even considered a future responsibility to earn a living or care for a family. When you live that way (as though everything is about you) it's impossible to move forward. You stand still- the world is spinning- and eventually you begin to sink. My life was the complete, near perfect OPPOSITE of what God had for me.
After all, Jesus said that the only two things that matter are that we "love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength" and that we "love others as we love ourselves." Believe me, those two things weren't even on my radar. One thing saved me: though I was not interested in God, He was interested in me. Friend, we cannot change our past. The mistakes, the sin, the harm, the wasted years- all behind us. But TODAY, starting right NOW is in front of us. My past has been forgiven.
Today I have the opportunity to love God and others. I have the opportunity to be kind and encouraging and joyful and generous. What a gift! The joy of the Lord is our strength! You are a child of the King! Embrace today with enthusiasm and excitement! Pour your life into loving God and others, and this will be a GREAT day! Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
