Do Your Will
Jesus once said to the disciples, "I have food to eat that you know nothing of," and then, "My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work." There was a 'food' that his disciples didn't understand- a filling that nourished the soul. Jesus was giving hope to a foreign woman who was in the middle of a tragically disappointing life. Some things are not only more important than our next meal, they are infinitely more fulfilling. Sharing the love of Christ- the gospel of Christ- with someone in need is the very reason that God leaves his children here on earth.
This fall I ran into a man out in the wilderness who needed help. This was a perfect opportunity for a spiritual conversation. When I learned that he was from Anchorage, I told him that we had just started a church there and invited him to come. He asked the name of our church, and when I told him, "The "Crossing" he grinned and said, "I was just there last Sunday." I told him that I was the one preaching and he said, "No, the preacher was on the screen." I said, "Yes, that was me."
This is the love of Christ- giving this man one more opportunity to surrender his life, one more reminder that God loves him- one more proof that the heart of God was FOR him even in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness. Pray with me: "Lord. let my food today be to DO YOUR WILL. Amen." Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
