Go Where People Are
Though nothing was coming into my bear stand, I made the drive and hike into the mountains night after night for several weeks. I continued practicing with my bow and was confident that if I was given the opportunity I could make a good shot. I had been out of the army for about 4 months, and Laura and I had the opportunity to go to Glennallen and Kenny Lake to officially accept our first teaching jobs in Alaska. I never went anywhere without a gun in the car, so I decided to do a little scouting out towards McCarthy.
To my great surprise, I stumbled into beautiful cinnamon colored black bear. It's true that I have had my share of good fortune over the years, but as I've often told other hunters, "You can't get lucky unless you get in the woods." The same thing is true when it comes to sharing our faith. If you want to be successful, you have to get out where people are. It is tempting for me to spend all of my time in my office or living room, but that's not where lost people hang out.
Of course we serve at home and spend quality time with our families, but that doesn't mean we can't be intentional about inviting people to church when we go to the grocery store or health club or gas station or ball field. If you want success, you have to go where people are. Be intentional and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
