You Will Find Christ

The high plateau that borders Montana's Missouri Breaks looks flat and lifeless. Sagebrush and tired looking soil called 'gumbo' go on for mile after mile. That's at first glance. In truth, the country is rich with game. Antelope herds thrive on the plains and small draws called 'coulees' offer shade to deer and elk during the heat of the day. I was hunting deer by myself, walking those draws and hoping to find a big buck.

I remember the first time that my friends took me to hunt in that country. You could see for miles (literally) and there wasn't a single animal anywhere. I thought they were crazy to waste time in a place like this. It was the same way when I moved into Alaska's interior and a friend took me hunting off the Denali Highway. He parked on a high ridge, got out his binoculars and started glassing. It looked to me like we could see anything that might be there, and in an hour of careful looking there was not a single animal.

I thought he was wasting our time. In both places- the flat, dry breaks and the wide open tundra, the truth was hidden. Discovering that truth took both patience and hard work. So many people only give Christ that first passing glance. They see Christianity and the Bible as empty and without life. But let me tell you something, this is NEVER true for those who look closely.

In Jeremiah 29:13 God says, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." If you are living in a desert place, open the Word of God, get on your knees and look closely. You will find THE WAY through your problems, THE TRUTH about God, and THE LIFE you've been seeking- you will find CHRIST. Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
