Embrace Today
I still needed to butcher my deer and get it in the freezer, but it was in the truck and I was pointed toward home. The moment I started my truck and put it in gear I felt an enormous sense of relief from not only half a day of grueling hard work, but also from the intense mental pressure of needing to get this deer out. Almost like flipping a light switch, everything changed in an instant. I was relaxed, joyful, feeling good about my success and if it wasn't for raw shoulders, I was completely forgetting all of the pain that filled my morning.
One of the great gifts God has given us is the ability to put suffering behind us and experience new joy in the moment. Satan, on the other hand wants to keep you suffering. He wants you to play your greatest wounds over and over and over again in your mind until the day you die. He wants you to claim 'victim' status and use your past as an excuse for not embracing the joy and the opportunities of today and tomorrow.
What most people fail to understand is that they are literally holding tightly to the very chains that bind them. You are not a slave to your past. You are not a victim. If you bought into that lie, RELEASE THOSE CHAINS! Do it now- right now! This is a NEW day, filled with opportunities to LOVE and to SERVE and to ENCOURAGE and to GIVE. Some of your past was very hard- I get it- but thank you, Lord, that you made it through! Embrace today! Live it to the fullest, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
