Receive His Peace
As I walked into the empty church in the early morning darkness, I was overwhelmed by the beautiful Christmas scene. Trees are lit and covered with ornaments, garland and lights decorate the stairwell, and somehow the combination blankets me with a feeling of peace.... and joy... and gratitude... For me, there is something holy about Christmas lights shining in the darkness that makes me want to walk softly and whisper. I don't want to interrupt the peace.
For many people (very many) Christmas memories are not everything you would have desired. Thank you, Jesus, that you have the opportunity to build new traditions- a new legacy for your family, as many others carry on the Christmas blessing they received. Yes, our world is in turmoil, but Jesus said in John 14:27, "PEACE I leave with you. My PEACE I give you." Exhale. Take a moment to soak it in. It's a freely offered gift. Allow yourself to RECEIVE HIS PEACE, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
