Following Jesus Christ
Cold and dark. That's our Alaskan morning. We all know that 'cold' is a word we use to describe the absence of heat, and 'dark' is the word we use to describe the absence of light. Our God is a Consuming Fire and The Light of the World. Heat and Light.
But more than that, God is GOOD. Thus, the ABSENCE of GOD is the ABSENCE of GOOD. This is what makes hell so terrible. If you want nothing to do with Jesus in this lifetime, you'll have nothing to do with him for eternity. Those who reject Christ will have NO GOOD THING- no love, no kindness, no joy, no pleasure. That's not a threat, it's a consequence. We are born 'sinners' in a sinful world, separated from our perfect Heavenly Father. But God does not condemn us, our sins do. Thankfully, that is not the end of our story. John 3:16- "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life."
Jesus traded his life for ours. 1 John 4:10- "This is love not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." Give what's left of your life FULLY to following Jesus Christ, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
