God's Mission
Though I am thousands of miles away, yesterday our church had its annual 'Timothy Challenge' Sunday. We passed out thousands of dollars in $20 bills to children and young people from kindergarten through college-age. They use that $20 to buy ingredients or materials to create things to sell to raise money for foreign missions.
For the next 3 Sundays our church will have dozens of tables set up after services selling art, jewelry, baked goods, meals, and many other things. At the end, they give us back our $20 along with all of the money that they've made. I don't recall the exact figure, but last year they earned in the vicinity of $15,000! The bulk of that money went to Ukraine, Thailand, and Poland (Ukranian refugees).
We've also sent mission teams to Ukraine and Poland and are sending another this spring. Jesus said, "Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations." Exactly WHO did he mean, and WHEN? Good news! He meant ALL of us. And WHEN? Every time you walk out your door! Therefore GO! Be a part of God's MISSION, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
