Ask For The Holy Spirit
My grandfather Ellsworth 'Al' Rud loved to fish. He also loved a good 'fish story.' When I was a young man teaching school in Montana, he once made the 800+ mile drive to come and see me. We caught our limit of beautiful rainbow and brown trout weighing between 1.5 and 3 pounds. He was so excited to show off these fish to his friends that he didn't even spend the night. We packed the fish on ice, he got into his car and headed for home.
In Southeastern Minnesota's tiny little trout streams a limit of fish like that was unheard of. Everyone wanted to know where he caught them, but he just laughed and wouldn't give a clue. I'm not sure if he ever told them. But get this- even if he had, they would only have shared an imperfect image of the experience. Some things you have to experience in order to truly understand.
This is the way it is regarding the Holy Spirit IN US. We can describe to another person what it's like to be filled with the presence of God- with God himself- but it's impossible to really 'get it' unless you share the experience. When you DO share the experience, suddenly you KNOW. ASK for the Holy Spirit, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
