Give Your Very Best
Many studies have been done proving that physical appearance provides great advantage (or disadvantage) for career applicants. Beauty and fitness for women and strength and height for men are a distinct advantage. But here's the thing- those qualities have no correlation to excellence in performance of the job.
What correlates to high performance and success? Kindness, work ethic, being a 'team player,' a positive attitude, and a willingness to serve beyond normal job responsibilities. The 'heart issues' prove to be far more significant than outward appearance.
Of course we should try to look our best. After all, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. But more importantly, we should strive to BE our best- to love God and serve others with sincerity and commitment. 1 Samuel 16:7 says, "Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." Check your heart and your attitude. Give your very best, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
