Good News To Share

I was startled awake out of a deep sleep. With my head laying directly on the ice, the 'crunch- crunch- crunch' of footsteps echoed like a megaphone. A man was 100 feet away, walking toward me on this small ice field. I glanced at my watch. After the grueling ordeal of getting my pack and Dall sheep off the mountain, I had been asleep for 6 hours! When I sat up, I also startled him. He hadn't seen me. It was Larry Hand, my hunting partner's dad.

When he recognized me, he walked up and said, "Timmy got a ram. We waited for you. We didn't want to shoot it because we wanted you to get it, but it finally got nervous and was going to leave the country." I asked, "Where's Tim?" "He's coming. I have half of his sheep in my pack and was bringing it down to this ice to cool it off."
I was savoring this moment. Larry and Tim had no idea that I had also taken a nice ram.
I had unexpected good news to share.

Even young children love to be 'the one' who gets to share good news. They will excitedly run up to you and say, "Guess what?" or, "You'll never guess what happened!" Sometimes they just blurt it out. Friends, you and I have GOOD news to share. It's GREAT news. It's the only news that matters FOREVER.

More than that, it's news that people NEED to hear. So? Share it! Tell them about Jesus- what he's done for them and what he has done in your own life. Invite them to church. Take them out for a cup of coffee. Be a part of what God is doing in the world, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
