Be Bold
As I laid sleeping on the ice, Tim and Larry had been stalking a ram. They got close enough for a shot and then settled in to wait for me. Tim and I had taken turns packing a large Sony video camera in a waterproof case. Our hope was to get a great hunting video of one of us getting a Dall sheep. When we split up the day before they took the camera because I was by myself.
They finally decided that Tim had to shoot before the rams headed out of the country. Before he shot he took out the video camera and showed his dad how to use it. He waited for Larry to get in position with the camera and then whispered, "Are you ready, dad?" Larry whispered back, "Yeah, go ahead."BANG! The sheep was down. That's when Larry said, "How do you turn this dang thing on?"
Oh well. With the case and extra batteries, the camera was nearly as large and heavy as a small boat anchor. It was top of the line with the best video quality available. We had the right equipment, but it didn't do us a lick of good. A video camera only has value if you use it. In Acts 1:8 Jesus said, "You will receive POWER when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and YOU WILL BE MY WITNESSES..."
Friends, POWER is not our problem. We HAVE the power of the Holy Spirit to share our faith, but it doesn't do us any good unless we USE it! Be strong! Be bold! Use the power God has given you, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
