Step Into The Adventure

I've always been wired for a challenge- for adventure- for exploring new territory. Many times I have hiked for miles into a new stretch of mountains and looked longingly at all of the country that I did not have time to explore. If a broken world contains so much beauty, what must it have been like when God first created it? While there is comfort in the familiar, there is something invigorating about going somewhere or experiencing something new. This is the very reason why a small child is so often filled with wonder and joy.

Following Jesus is intended to be a great adventure. But here's the thing- in order to go to a new place I must be willing to leave the familiar. In order to embrace something new I must be willing to release something familiar. The first disciples left their family, their career and their home, but they traded their familiar life for the adventure of a lifetime.

Perhaps your new adventure is teaching 4th grade girls Sunday school. Maybe it's signing up for a mission trip to a foreign country. Maybe it's traveling a great distance to reconnect with old friends and tell them what Jesus has done for your life. Step into the adventure that God has for you, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
