Stay In The Word Of God
If you are fortunate to visit an Alaska native village during the 'run' you will see fish racks drying salmon. In the interior you may also see a cache. This looks like a tiny log cabin on stilts- usually 15 ft or more up off the ground. This is where hunters would store their meat to keep it from predators. The meat freezes in cold weather and is good all winter and spring. When it comes to food, these and almost countless other methods have been devised for PRESERVATION. Preservation accomplishes two things: it PROTECTS what is good, and, it keeps what is GOOD from becoming BAD.
As Christians, the righteousness (GOODness) of Christ has been gifted- imputed- to us. Philippians 1:6 tells us, "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." But how, exactly, can we keep this good work of God from being corrupted? Only by the Word of God. God's Word protects what is good, and keeps what is good from becoming bad.
Jude 1:24 tells us that" God is able to keep you from falling and will present you faultless before the presence of His glory.." HE protects. HE preserves. Stay in the Word of God, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
