Get Properly Equipped
I am always amazed at the amount of money that some people spend on their children's outdoor clothing. Not that good gear isn't important, it's just that they grow out of things so quickly. When I was a kid we simply made do with what we had. Waterproof boots? We never heard of them. Waterproofing for us was Wonderbread sacks over our socks. As I've grown older I've learned the importance of being properly equipped.
The more difficult my circumstances, the more evident this becomes. In the wilderness I've experienced a week of continuous rain with temperatures in the low 30's and I've experienced temperatures colder than -50°. The right equipment makes the difference. The same thing is true spiritually. When we start our morning in the Word of God - reading from Proverbs or the New Testament, we equip ourselves for the coming day.
When we spend time praying for friends or relatives, we equip ourselves for the next time we meet. When we become part of a Bible-teaching church and small group Bible studies, we equip ourselves for the challenges we face in life. If you are in a dead church, get out! If you're not in a Bible study or reading the Word of God- get in! Get properly equipped, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
