Buy What You Can Afford

For many years Laura and I were locally famous for our car stories. More accurately- for our car troubles. You see, building a church, raising five children of our own and helping to raise nearly two dozen more kept us on a slim budget. In fact, we drove two vehicles that had both been totaled (and not fixed) for many years. Understanding that those two were our 'good' vehicles, you can imagine how much money we invested in a car for our kids when they started driving. But we wouldn't change a thing. Life is about priorities, isn't it?

There is certainly nothing wrong with having a new car for those who can afford it. I think that's great. The problem comes when people go into debt to purchase things that they cannot afford. Proverbs 22:7 says, "The borrower is slave to the lender." Stay FREE- live on a budget- only buy what you can afford- and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
