Tie Down

When my daughter Sarah was 11 years old, our friend (and hunting guide) Terry Holiday flew us out of Iliamna on her first caribou hunt. We experienced a night of wind like nothing I've ever seen. Our tent was literally called a 'Bomb Shelter', and with its heavy steel pipe frame and 16 tie-down ropes to anchor us in place, we managed to weather it through. Other hunters with the same tent didn't make it. Their tent collapsed and they suffered through bad weather out on the open ground.

What was the difference? We used all 16 anchor ropes- they did not. Setting ours up was a headache, believe me. It probably took us 2 extra hours if time and energy just to anchor and stake our tent. In the same way, the Word of God provides many anchor lines for life's challenges. Prayer, worship, meeting together, serving- even giving is a secure anchor line.

On top of that is the POWER contained in the Scripture itself. But those anchor lines only have value if you USE them! Are you tired of being blown away by the storms of life? TIE DOWN, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
