Pour Yourself Out

It was my first time hunting with this partner. I had taken him to one of the few spots where I had consistently found moose. At first light, there he was- a young bull standing 100 yards away, barely visible through the fog that hovered over a small pond. Even though it was my hunt and my spot, I decided to let my partner shoot this moose. I had killed many moose and was more interested in his excitement over getting one (and the meat).

It is a good thing to allow other people to shine- to allow others to receive the accolades and praise that could easily have been your own. In rural Alaska, to go home with a moose is a BIG deal. It is cause for celebration. I wanted him to experience that. It is for this same reason that Jesus gives us the privilege of laboring in his harvest field.

He wants us to experience the joy of LOVING, GIVING, SERVING, and LEADING others to faith in Christ. It PLEASES HIM to SHARE HIS REWARD! Friend, this life is not about you. Pour yourself out for the love of God and others, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
