Choose Well
About a half hour later, my friend came trudging up the trail with his enormously heavy load of meat. I let him tag this moose because he had hit it just above the hind hoof before I shot it. Having 2 men to cut and pack a moose is a blessing, and we had about about a day and a half now to go and find one for me... so I thought... When he got back, he said, "I have a lot of things I need to do at home, so i'm going to head out." This was the first and the last time I ever hunted with this guy. I took him to my spot, let him try to shoot the moose before I had to go after it and get it for him, cut it all up because he didn't know how, GAVE it to him, and now he was leaving me on my own.
The Bible says that we are "not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers." The picture is that of a mule and an ox being yoked together. If you try that, you'll have a lot of activity, but not a lot of forward motion. This guy was not a believer, and he was simply acting in line with his character. It was a good lesson for me. How about you?
Have you ever been unequally yoked? Perhaps a better question is this. Do you strive to be an excellent partner when you are working with others? Do you strive to be a man or woman of integrity? Are you willing to serve- even at times without seeking recognition or personal gain? When you join forces with another person, CHOOSE WELL, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
