Be Humble

Finding the rope on the outside of the raft and pulling my head above water were major victories, but my problems were far from over. Even with a dry suit, the 35° water temperature was rapidly taxing my strength. I had been flushed through a gorge while under the raft, was now in a calm (but fast) elbow of the river, and I could hear the roar of waterfalls in front of me. Life often hits us with a series of difficult things. For a newly single parent, getting a job that will provide for her family is the first critical challenge. But even after that one is met, there is still the huge logistical issue of managing the daily lives of children while at work.

And those two are just the start. One of life's greatest skills is to REFUSE to allow yourself to feel overwhelmed. Instead, MAKE A LIST of those things that need to be done, PRIORITIZE your list according to URGENCY and IMPORTANCE, and then COMPLETE those tasks one at a time.

Friends, there are times when life will be both difficult and complicated. You CAN get through it. Be humble enough to ask for help. Let your church family know what you need. You may need to work long hours for a season, but you will have victory in the end! Be blessed! -Pastor Brad
