Confess
My kids also grew up loving the snow. At some point every August they could see fresh snow on the distant mountaintops, and there would be a collective, "Yes!" This would be followed by my audible groan. You must understand that the snow doesn't melt away from our yard until early May. How could they be excited to see it coming in August? To me that still doesn't make sense. But then, over half of their memories of 'playing' as kids involved snow, and to a child that's almost magical.
While I am rarely anxious for the first snow, I love seeing that pure, white blanket covering the earth. Isaiah 1:18 says, "Come now let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." 1 John 1:7 says, "But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his son, cleanses us from all sin." But then John makes it clear that God has set a condition on this cleansing.
In verse 9 he writes, "IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Don't carry the weight of your sins. Confess, be cleansed, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
