Draw People To Christ

I had my rifle but I wasn't expecting to see anything. I was on a trail that was a mixture of tundra, black spruce and birch, choked with willow brush. It was impossible to move quietly. When I came to a muddy spot, there was a huge grizzly track in the trail. It was fresh and moving the same direction as me. I only had two days to hunt.  I wondered if he would come back along this same trail. How did I know it was a grizzly and not a black bear? On this particular track- size, of course- but more than that. A black bear's front claws are retracted when it walks. A grizzly bear's claws make little dots in the mud out in front of its toes.

In this way, you can tell the difference even if it's a young, small bear. In a similar way, Christians can be known by the 'tracks' we leave behind. Signs of TRUE faith are visible. Among them are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self- control. These are saturated within our conversations and actions, and are the platform of our witness for Christ.

A beautiful, simple song that came out of the 'Jesus movement' of the early 1970's said it well- "And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love. Yes, they'll know we are Christians by our love." When you walk out of a room full of people, leave the kind of 'tracks' that draw people to Christ, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
