Discover God In His Word
Though walking quietly, with the small amount of noise that I was making i knew that I had virtually no chance of stumbling on this bear in the timber. They say that bears have poor eyesight. This may be true, but I've been 'spotted' on more than one occasion at over 100 yards and had bears take off running away from me. Then, again, there have been a few occasions when they've been closer than 10 yards without knowing that I was there. Either way, there is no question that they primarily live by their senses of hearing and smell.
Our senses are a gift from God. I've wept at the sound of beautiful music and been flooded with wonderful childhood memories at the smell of fresh cut hay. And WHY did God give us our senses? that's an easy one. It's so that we can KNOW HIM MORE. While our knowledge of Him comes primarily through his written Word, we also see and experience him in all of creation.
The songs of the birds tell us there is music in the heart of God while the scent and color of a rose speak of God's beauty. Discover God in his Word- ALWAYS in His Word- but also in creation, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
