Don't Give Up

It was one of those rare occasions when everything worked out perfectly. I only had one night to hunt. I had seen sign of a BIG bear in the vicinity... and I only had to wait an hour or two before I heard him coming. Unlike that of the bow hunters who 'pass' on many nice bucks- waiting for just the right one- much of Alaska is not 'game rich' country. I often hunt years at a time without seeing a legal moose or sheep. I am accustomed to 'going home empty.' Success comes through persistence.

To spend only two days in the woods and to actually get the bear I was after was an unexpected blessing. I have learned to be thankful for my time in the wilderness. Whether we are talking about hunting, paying off your mortgage, putting in extra effort to advance your career, disciplined exercise, or saving money for the future- persistence pays. The Apostle Paul says that we are to "Run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Keep running your race, don't give up, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
