The Right Thing Today
My bear was down- one of the biggest interior grizzlies I'd ever run across. Properly skinning a large bear without help is very difficult. It's impossible to hold up a heavy leg, run a knife, and peel hide at the same time. Add to this that I wanted to keep the meat clean. I've hunted by myself for many years and knew exactly what I needed to do. With strong parachute cord around a tree, I was able to a cinch three of the legs up in the air. This didn't solve all of my problems on a bear that was too heavy to move, but it allowed me to get started.
Many of life's challenges need to be handled one piece at a time. It may be night classes over several years that launch a better career. It may be working 2 full-time jobs for a year to pay off debt ( there are 168 hours in a week, you would only be working 80). We tend to become impatient. If we can't complete something quickly we don't even start. Just as often we start something and then don't finish.
The problem is WRONG THINKING. We have a wrong definition of 'success' in our minds. Success in God's eyes is not a future prospect, it is doing the right thing TODAY. Set right goals- take right steps- and you will be blessed!
