Don't Waste Today
Our last day of August and last day of September snows have all melted from my yard, but the fresh snow on the mountains keeps getting closer. Strange as it may seem, I honestly love the snow- l love being outside in winter. Don't get me wrong, I would also love two more months of fall. But hey- we get what we get, don't we? Every season has its advantages. In the winter we don't have to deal with no-se-ums (biting gnats) and mosquitoes, it virtually never rains, and the air is always fresh and invigorating. Every season of life also has its advantages.
Single? The Apostle Paul says that you are able to serve the Lord with greater freedom. Married? Proverbs 18:22 says, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord." Raising children? Psalm 127:3 says, "Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord." Retired? Speaking of those who follow Christ, Psalm 92:14 says, "They will still bear fruit in old age. They will stay fresh and green." Don't waste today longing for yesterday or waiting for tomorrow. Embrace this season, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
