Keep Asking

For years I spent several mornings (or more) a week climbing with my partners Roger Denny and Tom Devine. If I ranked the blessings that this was to my life, I would say 1) Friendship, 2) Fitness, and, 3) Accountability. Men generally have a harder time 'going deep' when it comes to friendship. That's just how we are wired. Our conversations aren't best over the phone or even over a cup of coffee. We are DOERS. SHARED EXPERIENCE is the key to knitting our hearts together.

The advantages of fitness go without saying, but the accountability was priceless. Hundreds of times the only reason that I got up at 4 a.m. and put on my climbing gear was because those guys were going to be at my house shortly. Of course, these same advantages apply to women even though it is in their nature to go deep. Whether it's going for a run, going to the gym, climbing, hunting, fishing or adventuring, keep asking until you find a consistent partner, and you will be blessed! -Pastor Brad
